MISSION 10 / DAILY RESETS
The ten-minute reset is allowed to end.
A stopping rule for people who accidentally reorganize the universe.

Pick one surface.
Choose a small area you can finish.
Return what belongs.
Use obvious homes; set aside decisions for later.
Stop at the timer.
Usable is the goal. The rest can be another mission.
The full mission briefing
01 Your mission
Make one area more usable in ten minutes. Choose a visible finish line: clear the dining surface, restore the entryway, or collect the desk’s loose supplies. This is a reset, not a full decluttering decision marathon.
02 Choose the smallest useful outcome
Write the outcome in ordinary words. “Make room to eat” is clearer than “fix the kitchen.” Set a timer if that helps and gather only the tools needed for this task. Avoid starting a cabinet project because one mug reminded you that the shelves exist.
03 Return before you redesign
Remove obvious rubbish appropriately, gather items that belong elsewhere, and return the things with established homes. Use one temporary tray for uncertain items. Do not spread the entire room onto the floor unless you have time and a plan to finish.
04 Keep the temporary tray temporary
At the end, give uncertain items a specific next review time. If the same objects return repeatedly, the missing piece may be a convenient home rather than more discipline. Track that as a separate project so today’s reset can still finish.
05 Notice repeated friction
Ask which action took the most effort: carrying laundry upstairs, reaching a shelf, or finding a place for mail. Change one destination or boundary next time. Repeated problems are useful information about the system; they are not evidence of a character defect.
06 Stopping point
Stop when the chosen surface is usable or the timer ends. Put tools away and leave the room safe. A reset that reliably ends is easier to repeat than an ambitious project that consumes every available evening. No purchase is necessary for this mission.
